Bloodborne Pathogens
With the increased advent and prevalence of HIV, and Hepatitis B bloodborne pathogens have gained increased attention from the national and international communities as well as State and Local governments. In fact, society as a whole view bloodborne pathogens as a direct threat to the health and welfare of the entire public society. Hence, OSHA has introduced standards to prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens in the workplace. The standard can be found in 29 CRF 1910.1030. This standard focuses on, but is not limited to HIV and Hepatitis B.
